a wine that turns raisins into gold

In the hills of soave the vine-grower, gino magnabosco, together with his family, carry on this very passion that traditions have handed down. Intense scent, dry taste and fresh are characteristics of monte tondo’s wines that are difficult to forget. Magnabosco family is attentive to any new improvement in grape-producing technology of soave and valpolicella, in order to guarantee wine of the best quality at all times to represent the area in which it is produced.

32 hectares of vineyards are situated on the best plots that the soave zone can offer: Monte Tenda, Monte Foscarino and Monte Tondo, from which the vineyard takes its name, ensure that the wine produced has an intense perfume, a bouquet ranging from floral to fruity with an unmistakeable flavour. A witness of that bond which the holiday farmhouse has knitted between her soave white wines and the history of these hills.

Alcohol content: 16% voI.

Production area: a blend of the best grapes from the vineyard in the Valpolicella Doc area, locality Campiano, village of Cazzano di Tramigna.

Grape variety: 30% Corvinone; 40% Corvina; 30% Rondinella.

Grape harvest: in the first 10 days of October by hand. The grapes are picked and layed in small plastic boxes for about 2 month in special dry and well-ventilated rooms called “fruttai”.

Vinification: in the end of January the grapes are lost about the 45 % of the juice, from hire start the vinification.The maceration takes about 20 days at 23-28°C it depends on the vintage.The wine ages for about 30 months in big barrel. After the bottling it ages for a minimum of 10 months before being released for sale.

Characteristics: very important red wine; deep ruby red verging on garnet; intense fruity bouquet of cherry and dried plum with a floral aroma of dried flowers and a hint of sweet Spices smooth and captivating in the mouth; extremely elegant full-body and long finish.

Food matches: excellent with all kinds of entrecote, grilled and on-the-spit meat dishes.

Temperature: serve at 20°-22°C
