Fattoria San Giuliano – III Millennio – Alc14.5%


Born in the vineyards in the province of Cuneo, in the Langhe. A Grand Piemonte Red Wine obtained from the union of two wines, Nebbiolo and Barbera, is made with carefully selected grapes, the proportions depending on the year.

The soil, thanks to the presence of limestone and clay that unite in the marls, gives the wines colour, aroma and structure, in favour of a quality that distinguishes the territory of Neive.

Barbera – Nebbiolo are the two marquee red wine grapes of northwest Italy, and are often blended together in Piedmont to create a modern wine for the international palate. Nebbiolo, the forceful and noble grape of Barolo and Barbaresco fame, is considerably softened by the addition of Barbera and the resulting blend is much more approachable in its youth. Barbera adds cherry flavours to Nebbiolo’s distinctive strawberry, and the high acidity of both ensure the wine is fresh and rarely flabby.

Depending on the proportions of the blend, Barbera – Nebbiolo wines may be more fruit- or herb-focused. Nebbiolo’s aromas of tar and roses complement Barbera’s fruit profile and together they form a harmonious blend of structure and fragrance.

The grapes, selected and harvested by hand, are vinified separately, then blended and aged for 10 months in oak barrels with an additional ageing in bottles for about 6 months before release on the market.

Only 3,000 bottles are made.

The wine is characterized by an intense ruby red colour with dark garnet tones, on the medium (++) nose, intense and inviting aromas of dark forest fruits, On the palate medium (++) dry, aromatic, warm and beautiful, full bodied, velvety,  Refined, balanced and pleasantly elegant, with a long lasting finish.
